Abstract Aim Post-operative hypocalcaemia is a serious complication of thyroid and parathyroid surgery if not recognised treated immediately. With sub specialisation day case surgery, on call may be unfamiliar with immediate management. This can lead to non standardised inefficient management patients. The aim was develop patient information card which outlined the symptoms initial evidenced based for managing health care professional. Method For this quality improvement work questionnaire produced provided service users following Total Thyroidectomy Parathyroidectomy at regional endocrine unit. Data collected post before after intervention introduced. Results A positive response introduction QR code leading guidelines an evidence-based guide professionals assessing patients hypocalcaemia. Furthermore, confidence identifying improved. Conclusion post-operative business sized has operative triage in service.
